French Onion French Dip Garlic Cheesy Bread


  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • Sliced roast beef
  • Slices of Swiss cheese
  • Au Jus, for dipping


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, softened butter, shredded Italian blend cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, onion soup mix, and pepper.
  3. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread the prepared mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Arrange the sliced roast beef over the spread mixture and top with slices of Swiss cheese. Sprinkle with additional pepper if desired.
  5. Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven, slice, and serve with a side of Au Jus for dipping.
