Air fryer chicken schnitzel bites with honey mustard sauce
These buttery, crispy-coated chicken nibbles are incredibly juicy. The paprika gives the honey mustard dipping sauce a wonderful sense of smokiness. The honey’s richness is countered by the vinegar component. Chicken and mustard make a classic pairing, especially with dill. If you’re not a fan of dill, substitute parsley or chives.
Ingredients:
- 2 and a half cups (25g) panko breadcrumbs
- Shredded Parmesan cheese, 60g (3/4 cup)
- One tablespoon smoky paprika
- 500g of chicken breast fillets, sliced into 4cm pieces,
- 185g of melted butter
Honey mustard sauce
- 125ml (1/2 cup) of honey
- Three teaspoons of Dijon mustard
- Three teaspoons of red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder (not required)
Directions:
In a shallow bowl, combine the 60g (3/4 cup) shredded parmesan, 1 tbsp smoked paprika, and 125g (2 1/2 cups) panko breadcrumbs. Time of year. Put the melted 185g of butter in a different small bowl. 500g of chicken breast fillets, cut into 4cm pieces, should be dipped in butter and the excess should fall back into the basin. Press the breadcrumb mixture firmly onto the chicken to coat it. For a double coating, dip in the butter and breadcrumb mixture one more. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with the remaining butter, breadcrumb mixture, and chicken. Put in the refrigerator to cool for thirty minutes.
Allow space between each bite of chicken as you place half of the bites in the air fryer basket. Apply oil with a spray. Simmer for 12 minutes at 180°C, or until thoroughly cooked and browned. Continue with the leftover bites.
Step 3:
Prepare the 125ml (1/2 cup) honey mustard sauce in the interim. Put the honey in a container that is safe to microwave. Heating should occur after 30 to 60 seconds in the microwave. Incorporate the ½ tsp mustard powder (optional), 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill, 3 tsp red wine vinegar, and 3 tsp Dijon mustard. Mix until well blended.
To serve, drizzle the chicken bites with the honey mustard sauce.
This sounds delightful. IT would be a great appetizer for a dinner party. Can’t wait to make it. Thank you.
