Butter and Jam Cookies

Butter and Jam Cookies

  • 200 grams of butter
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 300 grams of flour
  • 500 grams of strawberry, pineapple, blackberry, or your preferred flavor of jam

Step 1: Grease a large baking tray and preheat the oven to 200°C while preparing the cookie dough.

Step 2: In a bowl, combine the egg, butter, and sugar. Then, mix using either a hand whisk or an electric mixer, depending on what you have available.

Step 3: Gradually add the flour and continue mixing until a homogeneous dough forms. Allow the dough to rest for half an hour to double in volume.

Step 4: Divide the dough into 10 parts and shape them into small balls. Place them on the baking tray and make an indentation in the center of each ball to later add the jam. You can use your fingers for this.

Step 5: Using a brush, moisten the dough to prevent them from sticking together. Then, fill the indentations with the desired jam, being careful not to overfill. It is important that the jam is not too runny, as this will prevent achieving the desired consistency.

Step 6: Bake the cookies for approximately 25 minutes or until they are golden brown. Allow them to cool before enjoying with coffee or tea.
